The College of Social Sciences was newly founded in 1987 as the existing College of Humanities and Social Sciences was divided into College of Humanities and College of Social Sciences. Currently, the College offers undergraduate and graduate degrees at eight departments such as Political Science and International Relations, Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology, Libary and Information Science, Communication, Geography, and Cultural Anthropology and Archaeology . In addition, three cooperative programs at graduate level such as Global Diaspora Studies, Archival Studies, and Non-Governmental Organizations are offered.
The College has 7 research institutes: Social Science Research Institute, Public Administration Research Institute, Multi-cultural Society Research Institute, Election Politics Research Institute, Communication Research Institute, Knowledge Resource Research Center, and Geographic Information System Research Center.
With truth, creation, and service as its teaching philosophy, about 60 professors and 10 staff members, together with 1,600 undergraduate students and 200 graduate students, conduct education and research in social science-related fields in order to fulfill their missions. We are devoting ourselves to community service, and we are working together to help our students grow into capable and responsible talents with high professional knowledge, outstanding morality, and integrity.
